TMS320C54xx Evaluation Module Technical Reference
1.0 Overview of the TMS320C54XX EVM
The TMS320C54XX evaluation module(EVM) is a stand-alone card. It allows
evaluators to examine certain characteristics of the C54XX digital signal processor
(DSP) to determine if it meets their application requirements. Furthermore, the
module is an excellent platform to develop and run software on the C54XX family of
processors.
The C54XX EVM is shipped with a member of the C54xx family. The EVM allows full
speed verification of C54XX code. With 32K words of on-chip memory, 256K words of
onboard memory, Flash ROM, onboard UART, and a TLC320AD50 Sigma Delta codec,
the board can solve a variety of problems as shipped. Five expansion connectors are
provided for any necessary evaluation circuitry not provided on the as shipped
configuration.
To simplify code development and shorten debugging time, a number of user interfaces
are provided. Debuggers providing assembly language and ‘C’ high level language
debug are available with JTAG emulators.
1.1 Key Features of the TMS320C54XX EVM
The C54XX EVM has the following features:
